| Professors Amy Faivre (above left) and John Cigliano
(middle left) teach courses that include intensive fieldwork in January (during the
break between Fall and Spring semesters). Dr. Faivre and her students travel to Arizona to learn more about desert plants and animals. Students conduct several research projects, hike to spectacular mountain views, and stay for a portion of the time at a remote field station. Dr. Cigliano and his students do their field work in Belize. Research includes studying the ecology of the queen conch, a species of cultural and economic importance. Students also carry out reef fish surveys and explore mangrove islands. The course provides ample opportunity for snorkeling in incredible habitats. |
