Field Studies in Biodiversity & Conservation Biology

Field studies are a major, central component of the Biodiversity & Conservation Biology program. Students are encouraged to "get into the field" as much as possible and we provide several opportunities to do so. Whether the field studies are local or far away, they all have one thing in common--students get to study real life conservation issues and conduct research in some of the most endangered habitats on earth and on some of the most important conservation problems.

Below are pictures from field courses and experiences taught by Cedar Crest faculty. We are also affiliated with the School for Field Studies, where students can spend a semester or a month studying and conducting real research on environmental and conservation-related issues. Field sites include Turks & Caicos Islands (Caribbean), Baja (Mexico), Kenya, Australia, and Costa Rica.
