CCC Education Department requires undergraduate students to major in an academic content area appropriate for certification and co-major in secondary education.

We offer certification in secondary Biology, Chemistry, English, General Science, Mathematics and K-12 Spanish.

While positions are open in every content area, school districts are currently finding it difficult to find certified secondary teachers in mathematics, chemistry and K-12 Spanish. Successful graduates in these content areas are frequently promised contracts by school districts immediately upon certification.

However, all of our secondary certified teachers are in demand due to their knowledge base in adapting learning for special needs students and English language learners.

Highly qualified full-time and clinical adjuncts who teach and mentor students in this program are teacher scholars who all have a minimum of five years teaching experience.
