The Department
of International Languages and Literatures offers a wide variety
of languages and literature courses in French, German, Italian,
Japanese, and Spanish. Through close individual attention, concentration
on effective communication skills in the target language, and special
offerings such as medical Spanish and commercial French and German,
students not only acquire insight into another culture and language,
but also gain a fuller appreciation of their own. They are prepared
for the growing number of careers that demand knowledge of a second
language, for example: translation, international business, journalism,
broadcasting, travel and tourism, and the medical profession. |
