Student Clubs and Organizations

Clubs
Honor Society

Cedar Crest College Marketing Club, the Student Human Resource Management Association, and the Investment Club are groups of dedicated and energetic students working to improve their educational experience. Students from throughout the college are welcomed to join and participate. The groups arrange for speakers, panels, and networking opportunities. Field trips to companies or to major northeast cities are a regular feature.

The Investment Club manages a stock portfolio worth over $40,000.  The portfolio (originally worth $25,000) was donated to the College so that students could learn to analyze companies and make investment decisions through “hands-on” experience.  Since individuals have increasing responsibility for managing their own pensions, they need to understand the stock market and how to select stocks for investment.  The Investment Club, which is open to all students, provides the perfect opportunity.  The Club also takes field trips to Wall Street, participates in educational seminars at the New York Stock Exchange, and brings speakers from the world of finance to campus to conduct workshops.

SIGMA BETA DELTA

Founded 1994
International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration

Sigma Beta Delta was established to honor students who have attained superior records in business programs in schools and colleges with regional accreditation. The concept behind Sigma Beta Delta is not new. The honor society is the most prominent and most appropriate method through which faculty and institutions are able to recognize and encourage lifelong scholastic excellence. It has been a part of the American collegiate scene for over 200 years beginning with the founding of Phi Beta Kappa in 1776.

Sigma Beta Delta, International Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration, installed its first chapter in March 1994 at Belmont University. Through June 2002, Sigma Beta Delta has installed a total of 189 chapters in 42 states, plus one international chapter, with over 20,000 members.

Marketing Club

While marketing is our main focus, we are also passionate about planning activities and getting the college community involved. Charity work is also important to the club and we have previously worked with the charity Made for Water, Made for Love.

We are currently working on a creativity day for the spring semester, as well as a collaboration acitvity with the accounting and investment clubs. We are applying for membership to the American arketing Association . We plan club trips to see marketing in action, places such places as King of Prussia Mall.

All students are welcome to join, whether they are marketing majors or not! So come join us Fridays at 12:00pm in the Curtis Hall Business Lounge.
