The Cedar Crest Stage Company presents several productions to the public each
season. CCSC is committed to bringing shows to the Lehigh Valley that emphasize
the role of women in theatre and women's issues.

CHILDREN'S SHOWS
Often produced as commissioned works, the children's show complements the local
elementary school curricula by offering daily performances. Featuring classical children's
literature as well as contemporary themes and settings, the production offers an opportunity
for teachers, through the use of a study guide, to integrate the live production experience
with classroom activites.

COMEDIES & DRAMAS
Selections include plays by contemporary playwrights as well as classics chosen for
their challenging women's roles.

DANCE CONCERTS
Presented twice a year, the dance concerts present works by faculty and students. The concerts
feature the Dance Company members, guest artists, faculty, and students from dance technique classes.

FRIENDS OF CEDAR CREST THEATRE PRODUCTIONS
Shows are staged by the Friends of Cedar Crest Theatre as benefits for the Performing Arts
Department. These productions utilize the talents of alums and current students bringing the
past and the present together.

MUSICALS
Modern musicals from Off-Broadway and successful regional theatres premieres are
selected for their challenging roles for women and contemporary themes.

TOURING SHOWS
Started in 1989, the tour is an outreach program to the public and private schools in the Lehigh Valley.
Often funded by grants, the touring show is offered free and responds to the teachers' need to address
complicated themes such as peer pressure, racial issues and family life.
