THEATRE FACULTY AND STAFF

 

ROXANNE AMICO
Performing Arts Department Chairperson, Professor, Designer
Roxanne Amico has designed more than 60 productions at Cedar Crest
since 1981 and has worked locally and in New York as a set and lighting
designer. Roxanne has been chairperson of the performing arts department
for over ten years. She is a member of the United Scenic Artists Local 829
and a graduate of Northwestern University with an M.F.A. in design.

 

LINDA BAAS Assistant Professor
Linda Baas is Cedar Crest's instuctor for Public Speaking and Oral Interpretation
courses. She is an alumnae of Cedar Crest College with a B.A. in Drama. Linda
received a M.A. in Drama from Syracuse University. In 1980, she went on to study
in London wiht Michael MacOwan, a Shakespearean director. She has also studied
acting at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City.

Linda's directing credits include The Cemetary Club and The Best Christmas Pageant
Ever
at the Pennsylvania Playhouse in Bethlehem, PA as well as The Heidi Chronicles
and The Hobbit produced by the Cedar Crest Stage Company. She has also recently
directed A Piece of my Heart (Angel Productions) in celebration of the dedication of the
Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Macungie, PA.

Linda last appeared on the Cedar Crest Stage as Juanita in the 1996 Production of Come
Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
. Her current character is Hagatha the
Storyteller in storytelling workshops for pre-kindergarten through elementary age schoolchildren
developed in cooperation with KIDS U in Trexlertowm, PA.

 

ROY HINE Director and Designer
Roy Hine has been a guest director and designer at Cedar Crest for the past nine years.
In that time some of the shows he has directed include: Alice in Wonderland, Opal, Weird
Romance, Mack & Mabel, Pipi Longstocking, Smile, Rags, Working, Runaways
. Roy's other
directing and design credits include: The Best Little Whorehosue in Texas, Trip to Bountiful,
Sweet Charity, Wizard of Oz, Dial M for Murder, Lend Me A Tenor, Big River, Secret Garden,
A Few Good Men, Guys & Dolls, A Chorus Line (Wagon Wheel) The 1940's Radio Hour
(Cortland Rep), the New York premiere of The Sons of Carol Gap and a History of American Film
(Pegasus Players). Roy is currently the artistic director of The Wagon Wheel Theatre, and a
graduate of Northwestern University with an M.F.A. in directing and design.

 

ELLEN ANN KAFKALAS Marketing Director
Ellen Ann has fifteen years of nonprofit arts management experience. The marketing director
for the Cedar Crest Stage Company and the director of marketing of The Town Hall Concert Hall
in New York City, her other experiences include working as director of publicity/box office treasurer
for the Mt. Washington Valley Theatre Company, press assistant for the Berkshire Theatre Festival
and creating a working publicity/marketing office for the Cedar Crest Stage Company while a student.
Founder of an alumnae-based fund raising organiztion, the Friends of Cedar Crest Theatre,
Ellen Ann has a B.A. in theatre from Cedar Crest College and is a produced playwright.

 

KEVIN GALLAGHER Technical Director
Kevin received his BA from Allentown College OSFS and his MFA from the University of Connecticut.
He was the Production Manager at the Barter Theatre (LORT D) in Abingdon VA. He has also spent
time as the Technical Director for Emerson College in Boston MA and most recently at Ramapo
College in Mahwah NJ.

 

KIMBERLY D. ROUNDS Costume Director
Kimberly has thirteen years of costume direction experience. The costume designs of Roxanne T. Amico,
Roy Hine, Rita Ann Kogler and more have been brought to life under Kimberly's supervision. Her costume
designs include: Treemonisha (The Town Hall, NYC), The Actor's Nightmare (Friends of Cedar Crest Theatre),
the 1996 - 1998 Spring Dance Concerts (Cedar Crest College), and The Trojan Women (Cedar Crest Stage Company).
With a B.A. in technical theatre from Cedar Crest College, Kimberly is also an accomplished lighting designer
and secretary for the Friends of Cedar Crest Theatre.
