The Crestiad is the student newspaper of Cedar Crest
College. The mission of Cedar Crest is to provide students
with an excellent education that is grounded in the liberal
arts and informed by humanistic values. The curriculum
is designed to enhance the development of critical thinking
and leadership skills, creative abilities, social awareness
and technological literacy. Committed to experiential
and lifelong learning, the College’s curricular
and co-curricular programs empower students to be ethical,
engaged, and responsible members of their communities,
to appreciate global diversity, and to provide stewardship
for the environment.

The Crestiad offices are located in Hartzel Hall, home
of the Humanities department at Cedar Crest. The Humanities
Department offers majors in Communication, English, Hispanic
and Latino Studies as well as minors in Gender Studies,
Writing, Philosophy, and Applied and Professional Ethics.

The Student Press Law Center is the nation's only legal
assistance agency devoted exclusively to educating high
school and college journalists about the rights and responsibilities
embodied in the First Amendment and supporting the student
news media in their struggle to cover important issues
free from censorship. The Crestiad is a member of The

CMA is the professional association dedicated to serving
the needs of collegiate student media programs and their
advisers, their mission is to: educate and inform advisers
about their roles in serving students and about the teaching,
advising and production of collegiate media, and advance
the aesthetics of the student media our members advise
and the technologies of these programs. The Crestiad
adviser is a member of CMA.
The Associated Collegiate Press

The Associated Collegiate Press is a division of the
National Scholastic Press Association. Although it had
college members since its inception in 1921, ACP was
first established as a distinct division in 1933. Today
it is the largest and oldest national membership organization
for college student media in the United States. As a
nonprofit educational membership association, ACP is
committed to providing professional services to its student
members. The Crestiad is a member of the Associated Collegiate
Press.
