Employment Opportunities - Faculty

Social Work
Adjunct Faculty
Fall 2016, Spring 2017

The Social Work Program of Cedar Crest College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach Social Work courses in Human Behavior and the Social Environment and Field Practice Seminar for the Fall 2016 semester. In addition, the program is seeking applicants for Spring 2017 to conduct a video lab reviewing students practicing various social worker skill sets.

Qualified applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work, an LSW or LCSW with a minimum of five (5) years practice experience post MSW. Prior college level teaching experience is also required. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to fostering student success within the field of social work.

College Writing
Adjunct Faculty


The History, Literature, and Languages Department at Cedar Crest College seeks qualified adjuncts to teach sections of WRI 100: College Writing during the summer and over the 16-17 academic year. Qualified applicants must have at least a master's degree in English and/or training in Composition/Rhetoric, as well as experience teaching writing to a diverse population of students at the college level. A background in ELL instruction and in developmental writing instruction, as well as the ability to teach classes online, is desirable. Cedar Crest College
Assistant Professor
Forensic Science
Full Time Position

Cedar Crest College is seeking applicants for a non-tenured track Assistant Professor position in the College’s FEPAC-Accredited undergraduate and graduate forensic science programs beginning in Fall 2016. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of scientific crime scene investigation, forensic pattern analysis, and/or trace evidence and microscopy. In addition, the successful candidate will provide research mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students and service to both the Department and the College.

Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in forensic science or a natural science and at least three (3) years professional experience as a forensic science practitioner, educator, or researcher or a Master of Science degree in forensic science or a natural science and at least six (6) years professional experience as a forensic science practitioner, educator, or researcher. Qualified candidates must also have Fellow status with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences or board certification with either the American Board of Criminalistics or the International Association for Identification.

MBA Program
Adjunct Faculty

Applications are invited for adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses on campus in one or more of the following business subjects: Critical/Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Governance, Economic Analysis, and Negotiation. Candidates must be able to demonstrate teaching excellence in an environment that is dedicated to providing a learning experience that imparts knowledge, competencies and skills for advancing students’ careers in their chosen field or entrepreneurial ventures. Ideal candidates will be student oriented and able to integrate current events and technology into the learning environment. Faculty are required to hold office hours, one hour for each class meeting.

Minimum qualifications: MBA or other relevant master’s degree required; Doctorate in business or related discipline preferred. Five years of business experience and teaching or training experience also required.

Assistant Professor

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for a full-time, 9 month Assistant Professor position in the Nursing Department to begin in August 2016. This position will focus on classroom and clinical instruction and includes the supervision of graduate students. Nursing Clinical Faculty - Adjunct

Administrative Assistant
Nutrition Department
Part Time – 20 hours/week

Cedar Crest College is seeking a part time Administrative Assistant to support the graduate program in the Nutrition department. Responsibilities include receiving and processing student applications, assisting incoming students and providing overall administrative support for the master’s program. The part time Assistant will work collaboratively with the others in Nutrition to assure a smooth functioning department and a positive student experience. This is a 12 month, part time position budgeted for 20 hours per week.

The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, customer relations and communication skills, as well as superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. Prior experience developing and maintaining databases, and proficiency in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks, along with demonstrating good judgment and taking initiative are essential. Familiarity with an academic environment is strongly preferred with a minimum associate’s degree in related field and one year experience in a similar setting.

School of Adult and Graduate Education
Admissions Counselor

The School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE) at Cedar Crest College is seeking a results-oriented, energetic, full time Admissions Counselor with a commitment to providing quality service for adult learners. Responsibilities include recruiting for undergraduate and graduate education programs, establishing a recruiting and communication process, conducting admissions counseling for prospective adult students, representing the College at both on- and off-campus recruiting events, interviewing and following up with candidates for admission to SAGE as well as reviewing all applications for admission and recommending action regarding admission. Some travel is required and evening and weekend hours are expected.

A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline is required. A minimum of one year of experience in recruiting adult students is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills are essential, as are exceptional interpersonal skills and effective time management. Candidates must also have prior experience in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Senior Director of Development Operations

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned development professional to provide leadership and direction to our Institutional Advancement team. The Senior Director will direct, develop and implement strategies and secure support and cooperation in order to achieve the goals for Institutional Advancement programs. The Senior Director will also provide direction to the Cedar Crest Fund, Annual Giving and Donor Records, Gifts and Stewardship programs and Advancement Communication and Social Media programs. The Senior Director is required to maintain a portfolio of prospects with goals established to cultivate, develop and increase donor participation.

A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of fund raising experience in a leadership role in higher education are required. A demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership within a development team and a proven track record of strategic and innovative thinking are also required. Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills are essential as is the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.

Assistant Director of Career Development

The Assistant Director of Career Development will provide career programming and direct services to students and Alumni to enhance their personal, academic and career development. The Assistant Director will conduct resume consultation, assist in preparation of credentials for graduate and professional school, promote market and coordinate on campus recruiting programs, coordinate a graduate school fair, represent the office at admissions events, and develop programming to support career exploration.

A master’s degree in is required, along with at least two years of professional experience in career services. Candidates must be a motivated, dynamic and innovative leader with a proven track record of success with establishing effective employment and networking opportunities for students and graduates. In addition, candidates must be able to work collaboratively with students, faculty, administrative staff and external constituents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates must also have knowledge of best practices in career development and innovative programs designed to enhance professional development for students, alumnae and the community. Some travel, evening, and weekend work is required in this role.

Multicultural Center Graduate Assistant
Part Time

Cedar Crest College is seeking an energetic graduate student with a passion for multicultural education, ALANA and LGBTQIA issues. The Multicultural Center GA will work to facilitate student learning about self and diverse others by planning engaging programs, meeting with students, supporting student organizations, promoting leadership development, and helping to build community among students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. The GA is also responsible for working with members of the multicultural team in the development and operation of the Multicultural Center and report directly to the Director of New Student Programs. The position is funded for two years at 20 hours per week and includes furnished room with air conditioner, cable, internet and free, semi-private laundry facilities. Free parking, free access to fitness and aquatic center activities and regional networking opportunities also complement this position!

Applicants must be Master’s degree candidates in student affairs in higher education or a closely related field. The successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment to diversity, cultural awareness, and social inclusion as well as a solid understanding of underrepresented college experiences in higher education. Strong problem solving and research skills are essential, as are excellent organizational, collaboration and communication skills. Prior experience in working with college students and programming is preferred, in addition to the ability to successfully facilitate workshops on a variety of topics.
