Employment Opportunities - Faculty

Department Chair

Cedar Crest College is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual to chair the Department of Business, Management, and Economics and provide leadership for the full realization of two strategic initiatives: an undergraduate cooperative education program for the Business major and the Master’s in Business Administration launched in Fall 2015. Reporting directly to the Provost, the Chair will be a proven leader and strategic thinker who will provide outstanding oversight and stewardship for the administrative, financial, and academic program components, and who will collaboratively develop a vision for the continued growth of the department. This is a 12-month academic appointment beginning in January 2017(preferred) or August 2017, with an 18 credit teaching load per academic year.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: (a) an earned Ph.D. or other ACBSP recognized doctoral degree in a business discipline from an accredited institution with a specialty in one of the teaching areas represented within the department, (b) a distinguished record of teaching and scholarship, (c) administrative experience in an academic unit, (d) excellent interpersonal and communication skills, (e) budget management skills, and (f) a demonstrated commitment to the educational and cultural needs of a diverse population.

Social Work
Adjunct Faculty

The Social Work Program of Cedar Crest College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach Social Work courses in Human Behavior and the Social Environment and Field Practice Seminar for the Fall 2016 semester. In addition, the program is seeking applicants for Spring 2017 to conduct a video lab reviewing students practicing various social worker skill sets.

College Writing
Adjunct Faculty


The History, Literature, and Languages Department at Cedar Crest College seeks qualified adjuncts to teach sections of WRI 100: College Writing during the summer and over the 16-17 academic year. Qualified applicants must have at least a master's degree in English and/or training in Composition/Rhetoric, as well as experience teaching writing to a diverse population of students at the college level. A background in ELL instruction and in developmental writing instruction, as well as the ability to teach classes online, is desirable. Assistant Professor
Forensic Science
Full Time Position

Cedar Crest College is seeking applicants for a non-tenured track Assistant Professor position in the College’s FEPAC-Accredited undergraduate and graduate forensic science programs beginning in Fall 2016. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of scientific crime scene investigation, forensic pattern analysis, and/or trace evidence and microscopy. In addition, the successful candidate will provide research mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students and service to both the Department and the College.

Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in forensic science or a natural science and at least three (3) years professional experience as a forensic science practitioner, educator, or researcher or a Master of Science degree in forensic science or a natural science and at least six (6) years professional experience as a forensic science practitioner, educator, or researcher. Qualified candidates must also have Fellow status with the American Academy of Forensic Sciences or board certification with either the American Board of Criminalistics or the International Association for Identification.

MBA Program
Adjunct Faculty

Applications are invited for adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses on campus in one or more of the following business subjects: Critical/Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Governance, Economic Analysis, and Negotiation. Nursing Clinical Faculty - Adjunct

Part Time Dispatcher/Switchboard
Campus Police

Do you have prior dispatch/switchboard experience with an interest in law enforcement? If so, consider the opportunity to join our team to answer and redirect calls, monitor radio and surveillance systems, monitor alarm systems, dispatch officers, contact appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintain confidentiality and other duties to keep our campus and students safe. The successful candidate will have prior experience in dispatch/switchboard operations or law enforcement coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and function well in stressful situations. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, child abuse clearance, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. Web Programmer/Analyst
Information Technology

Cedar Crest College is seeking a customer focused Web Programmer/Analyst to provide application development and integration with campus databases delivered via the web. The Web Programmer/Analyst is also responsible for extensive data analysis, collaborating with constituents across campus and for providing solutions to resolve problems and enhance processes.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development or related field and at least two years of experience developing web applications with a thorough knowledge of internet technologies, web servers and web delivery applications. Prior experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL server, in addition to experience using current scripting technologies (ASP.NET, C#, VB and Javascript) in an IIS Web environment are also essential; Familiarity with Jenzabar EX and JICS in an educational environment strongly preferred. Candidates must be able to work with both software and network operating systems in a Windows based environment. Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills are also required, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Front Desk Associate
Rodale Aquatic Center

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking a full time Front Desk Associate to provide an exceptional customer experience for Center athletes, students and families. Graduate Hall Director
Part Time, 10 months

The Department of Residence Life at Cedar Crest College is seeking a Graduate Hall Director to serve as a live-in staff member and supervisor of an all women’s residence hall.

This position is designed for maximum visibility, involvement and accessibility with residents. Responsibilities include supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating resident assistants, coordinating programming, addressing student conduct matters, and providing mediation and conflict resolution for resident students. Collaboration with campus police and health services and being a member of the on-call rotation are also included.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, in addition to experience and/or interest in Residence Life; enrollment in Master’s degree program is also required. The successful candidate must be a strong and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, and have excellent organizational and collaboration skills. Prior experience in facilitating workshops on a variety of topics is also required. An unwavering commitment to confidentiality is essential.

The Graduate Hall Director is contracted from August 1 – May 31 and includes a $12,000 stipend, furnished apartment with cable and internet access, board plan ($600 flex dollars per semester for meals while classes are in session), access to professional development and two Cedar Crest College graduate level courses per semester (pending admission to program and space availability). Reserved parking, access to pool and fitness center and free, semi-private laundry facility are also included.

Head Softball Coach and Athletic Operations Coordinator
Full Time

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Head Softball Coach who will also serve as the athletic department Operations Coordinator. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to serve as an NCAA Division III Head Softball Coach, while also coordinating facility scheduling and management of all home game operations, Athletics special events and summer camps as well as supervising assigned staff. Coaches are also expected to develop, coordinate and manage an active recruitment and retention program for student athletes. This is a full-time, 12-month position within the Student Affairs Division, reporting to the Director of Athletics, Wellness and Recreation.

A Bachelor's degree and at least two year’s prior experience coaching softball at the collegiate level are required. Candidates must also have demonstrated success at effectively recruiting and retaining student-athletes. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations necessary. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, time management and communication skills in addition to a strong commitment to player and student development. Current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are also required.

Assistant to the Provost

Cedar Crest College is seeking an Assistant to provide support to the Provost. Responsibilities include supporting the Provost, managing projects related to academic departments, coordinating and managing faculty hiring and evaluative processes, serving as administrator for applicable grants and reports, and serving as liaison between the Provost and other academic and administrative offices, as well as providing student services appropriate to the department function. Cedar Crest College is seeking a part time Administrative Assistant to support the graduate program in the Nutrition department. Senior Director of Development Operations

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned development professional to provide leadership and direction to our Institutional Advancement team. The Senior Director will direct, develop and implement strategies and secure support and cooperation in order to achieve the goals for Institutional Advancement programs. The Senior Director will also provide direction to the Cedar Crest Fund, Annual Giving and Donor Records, Gifts and Stewardship programs and Advancement Communication and Social Media programs. The Senior Director is required to maintain a portfolio of prospects with goals established to cultivate, develop and increase donor participation.

A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of fund raising experience in a leadership role in higher education are required. LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.

Assistant Director of Career Development

The Assistant Director of Career Development will provide career programming and direct services to students and Alumni to enhance their personal, academic and career development. The Assistant Director will conduct resume consultation, assist in preparation of credentials for graduate and professional school, promote market and coordinate on campus recruiting programs, coordinate a graduate school fair, represent the office at admissions events, and develop programming to support career exploration.

A master’s degree in is required, along with at least two years of professional experience in career services. Candidates must be a motivated, dynamic and innovative leader with a proven track record of success with establishing effective employment and networking opportunities for students and graduates. In addition, candidates must be able to work collaboratively with students, faculty, administrative staff and external constituents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates must also have knowledge of best practices in career development and innovative programs designed to enhance professional development for students, alumnae and the community. Some travel, evening, and weekend work is required in this role.
