Nutrition
Assistant Professor
Full Time, Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position

Applications are invited for the full-time, non-tenure track position (Assistant Professor) in Nutrition beginning in January 2015. This position supports our ACEND accredited DPD curriculum. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including introductory level courses as well as nutrition metabolism and principles of food; participation in college service, oversight of community outreach programming, scholarly activity and advising and mentoring students in an ACEND-accredited DPD.

Minimum qualifications: Terminal degree in Nutrition or related field preferred, however, strong candidates with Master’s degrees will be considered. Candidates must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. The successful candidate must have demonstrated teaching success at the undergraduate level and experience with ACEND accreditation standards.

Spanish
Half Time Faculty Position

Applications are invited for a half time faculty position in Spanish; the position will begin in January 2015. Responsibilities will include teaching a 2-2 course load, advising students in the program, and assisting the department chair with program oversight. Courses will include introductory and advanced Spanish language and composition courses, as well as topics courses in Spanish and/or Hispanic literature, and applied language courses for a variety of workplace settings; the range of topical and applied courses will depend upon the qualifications and interests of the instructor.
Master's degree or other terminal degree and fluency in Spanish are required. Prior experience teaching at the college level is strongly preferred.

Creative Writing
Half Time Faculty Position

Applications are invited for a half time faculty position in Creative Writing with the ability to teach in at least two genres. The position will begin in January 2015. Responsibilities will include teaching a 2-2 course load with introductory and advanced courses and advising a lively community of undergraduate creative writers. Occasional teaching of composition is also required.

Minimum qualifications: M.F.A or other terminal degree is required. Prior experience teaching at the college level is preferred.

Political Science
Half Time Faculty

Applications are invited for a half time Assistant Professor in Political Science beginning in January 2015. This faculty member will teach two courses per semester in American politics, law and politics, and international affairs; an interest in teaching women’s legal issues or public policy is also desirable. Additionally, the faculty member will be expected to advise students and participate in the process of program-building. The position may eventually expand, as the political science program will become part of a reconstituted History, Law, and Politics department in the near future.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. is preferred; however, ABD or JD with applicable experience will be considered. The successful candidate must have demonstrated teaching success and a strong commitment to education with an emphasis on undergraduate research and teaching.

Assistant/Associate Professor
Department of Health Sciences
Tenure-track, Department Chair

Cedar Crest College is excited to launch a newly formed Department of Health Sciences comprising four new majors (Health Science, Public Health, Health Promotion and Wellness, and Exercise Science). The College invites applications for the tenure-track position of assistant/associate professor who will also serve as chair of the department, beginning January 2015.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence in the College’s new Public Health major: teaching the core Health Professions courses, as well as courses in Epidemiology, Public Health, and Global Diseases. The selected candidate must possess the administrative, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to develop and grow the new department and the four new majors. Regular duties will include teaching, student advising, committee service, research and scholarly activities. Experience with program and curriculum planning is strongly preferred.

Position requirements: Earned terminal degree in a public health or health science related field. Preferred requirement: MPH or DPH

Nursing Faculty
Maternal/Child Health
Full-Time


Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for a full-time, 9 month faculty position in the Nursing Department to begin in August 2014. This position will focus primarily on classroom and clinical instruction of maternal/child health and includes the supervision of undergraduate students. Master’s degree in Nursing is required; a doctorate is preferred. Prior experience in classroom and clinical teaching is also preferred. A willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends is also essential.

Nursing Clinical Faculty - Adjunct

Are you a Master’s prepared registered nurse (MSN) with experience and expertise in a clinical specialty such as psych, community health, med-surg or maternal/child health? Graduate Intern
Women’s Field Hockey & Lacrosse

The Athletic Department is accepting applications for a Graduate Intern for women’s field hockey and lacrosse, starting in November 2014. The Graduate Intern will provide assistance to the Head Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach by assisting in player development both on an individual and team basis, recognizing individual talent for recruiting purposes, based on ongoing assessment of team performance, structuring and participating in specific training and fitness techniques relative to the program and making decisions in pressure situations. The Graduate Intern will also set role specific targets by assessing individual players, inform players of their responsibilities, duties, roles, etc. and assist in the operation of the sport specific camps and clinics.
Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline is required along with prior collegiate playing and/or coaching experience. Qualified candidates must also have knowledge of NCAA III rules and a vaid driver’s license. Acceptance into the Graduate Program at Cedar Crest College is required.
The Graduate Intern is eligible for on-Campus Housing, 12 credits annually and an annual stipend. Position would be extended based on coaching performance evaluation.

Media Strategist

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Media Strategist to play an important role in raising the visibility and profile of the College. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will assist with implementing the College’s communications strategy to drive enrollment and brand awareness. The Media Strategist will be responsible for managing advertising production and placements, coordinating the production of print and web materials, assisting in creating and implementing the College’s social media strategy, and managing the College’s public relation efforts through written press releases and direct contact with media.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English or Communications. Strong writing and editing skills with a sense of design in organizing, packaging and effectively presenting content for print, web and other media is essential. Effective project management skills with demonstrated ability to set timelines, map milestones, meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects with competing priorities required. Qualified candidates must have a firm understanding of web technologies and applications, including social networking, social media tools and current communication trends. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills along with a proven capacity for working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment are also necessary for success.

Aquatic Fitness Instructors

The Rodale Aquatic Center for Civic Health at Cedar Crest College seeks highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic individuals to teach aquatic fitness classes to a diverse population of students. Previous experience instructing aquatic or land fitness classes preferred; will train candidates in the use of new equipment and techniques AEA or Arthritis Foundation certification also preferred. Part-time openings exist for both morning and evening classes.

Part Time Dispatcher/Switchboard

Do you have prior dispatch/switchboard experience with an interest in law enforcement? If so, consider the opportunity to join our team to answer and redirect calls, monitor radio and surveillance systems, monitor alarm systems, dispatch officers, contact appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintain confidentiality and other duties to keep our campus and students safe. The successful candidate will have prior experience in dispatch/switchboard operations or law enforcement coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and function well in stressful situations. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling and may be required to work various shifts and weekends, based upon staffing needs.

Part-time Campus Police Officer

Must be available for any shift. Prior Campus Police or law enforcement (Act 120) experience preferred. Act 235 certification required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a degree in criminal justice or equivalent experience. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. The regular schedule will typically be an 8 hour shift and a minimum of 2 days per week. The individual may be required to work days, middles, nights, weekends and holidays, based upon staffing needs. Flexibility of work schedule mandatory. Hourly rate is $15.00.
