Political Science
Full Time, Non-Tenure Track Position

Applications are invited for the full-time, non-tenure track position (Assistant Professor) in Political Science beginning in August 2014. This faculty member will teach courses in American Politics, Law and Politics and Foreign Affairs, including the New Global Economy. Candidates with the ability to teach courses in Public Policy and Health policy are strongly preferred.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. is preferred, however, ABD will be considered. The successful candidate must have demonstrated teaching success and a strong commitment to education with an emphasis on undergraduate research and teaching.

Mathematics
Full Time, Tenure Track Faculty Position

Applications are invited for the full-time, tenure track position in Mathematics, beginning in August 2014.

Cedar Crest College offers a B.S. degree in mathematics and Pennsylvania teaching certification in secondary mathematics. This faculty member will teach mathematics courses for majors, but will also be expected to teach a broad range of service courses in mathematics for science, humanities and business students, with a teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester with some evening courses. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in mathematics or related field, proven record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, a desire to mentor mathematics and mathematics education students and direct undergraduate research, and a commitment to continued professional development. Candidates who are ABD will be considered if all degree requirements will be completed by their hire date. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate not only mathematical expertise but also an ability to communicate mathematics clearly and effectively to undergraduate students.

Assistant/Associate Professor
Department of Health Sciences
Tenure-track, Department Chair

Cedar Crest College is excited to launch a newly formed Department of Health Sciences comprising four new majors (Health Science, Public Health, Health Promotion and Wellness, and Exercise Science). The College invites applications for the tenure-track position of assistant/associate professor who will also serve as chair of the department, beginning August 2014.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence in the College’s new Public Health major: teaching the core Health Professions courses, as well as courses in Epidemiology, Public Health, and Global Diseases. The selected candidate must possess the administrative, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to develop and grow the new department and the four new majors. Regular duties will include teaching, student advising, committee service, research and scholarly activities. Experience with program and curriculum planning is strongly preferred.

Position requirements: Earned terminal degree in a public health or health science related field. Preferred requirement: MPH or DPH

Nursing Clinical Faculty - Adjunct

Are you a Master’s prepared registered nurse (MSN) with experience and expertise in a clinical specialty such as psych, community health, med-surg or maternal/child health? Art Therapy Program Assistant Professor – Part-time

Summary of Duties

The Art Department at Cedar Crest College seeks a Part-time Assistant Professor position in the Art Therapy Program beginning August 2014.

The Undergraduate and Graduate Art Therapy Programs provide a studio model of education based in a humanistic/existential approach to art therapy pre-professional and professional art therapy training.

Responsibilities include:

  • teaching two courses (graduate and/or undergraduate level) per semester
  • advising graduate and undergraduate art therapy students
  • assisting with coordination of graduate practicum placements
  • assisting with review of student applications and on-going student assessment
  • assisting with orientation workshops for first and second year graduate students
  • providing supervision to second year graduate students on required culminating project
  • serving on (1) academic college committee
  • assisting with activities that support the program and the college

Requirements

Educational: Qualified candidates will possess: a Master of Arts (or equivalent) degree in Art Therapy or Expressive Arts Therapy and be a registered Art Therapist (ATR) - board certified (ATR-BC) preferred.

Professional:  Candidate must also have diverse clinical and supervisory experience as well as teaching experience in the art therapy field. A record of art exhibition and/or publication is desirable.

Director of the Cedar Crest Fund

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join a fast paced development team. The Director of the Cedar Crest Fund is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive and aggressive Annual Fund program to generate annual gifts from a diverse group of alumnae, parents, students, faculty/staff and friends. The Director will develop and execute strategies to increase alumnae participation and to meet ambitious goals. The primary programs within Annual Giving are; reunion class campaigns and class agent programs, the Leadership Giving Society, alumnae and parent giving, calling, data driven direct mail, and corporate matching gift program. The Director of the Cedar Crest Fund will also manage a portfolio of Annual Fund prospects and report directly to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter and strategic and innovative thinker with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills along with a positive attitude, good sense of humor and a desire to work in a goal – oriented environment. A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines is also critical to success.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience of demonstrated success in Annual Fund fundraising in a development program within higher education is required. Familiarity with prospect management systems, web fundraising and social media platforms is strongly preferred. Availability and willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends is required.

Director of Development for Major Gifts

Cedar Crest College seeks a dynamic Director of Development for Major Gifts who is responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of donors over $25,000. The position incorporates annual and major gifts with an emphasis on individual and capital gifts to the Membership Society. The Director for Major Gifts is required to maintain an active schedule of face-to-face meetings with annual and major gift suspects and prospects, averaging fifteen (15) or more such meetings per month.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience of demonstrated success in fundraising in a higher education development program is required. Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as excellent interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills are required. Familiarity with prospect management systems, web fundraising and social media platforms is preferred. Availability and willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends is required.

HVAC/R Mechanic

Cedar Crest College seeks an experienced HVAC/R mechanic for our campus community. This position will conduct corrective and preventative maintenance and operate, program, troubleshoot, repair and modify equipment and associated components of various types of HVAC/R systems including split systems, unit ventilators, window units, compressors, coils and motors. The successful candidate will have HVAC Universal Certification , at least five years experience in the trade including with DDC and pneumatic controls, be able to work independently and collaboratively and have excellent customer service skills with a commitment to assuring the best possible environment for education and student living. Successful completion of an applicable investigative background check is required. This position is considered essential personnel for the campus and will be required to assist during College closures, emergencies and other scheduled and unscheduled events.

Dietetic Internship Supervised Practice Coordinator

Cedar Crest College seeks a 12-month full-time Dietetic Internship Supervised Practice Coordinator for the Department of Nutrition. This position will be responsible for assisting the Internship Director in all aspects of the supervised practice component of the Dietetic Internship. This position is an active member of the Cedar Crest Department of Nutrition and will participate in departmental strategic planning, assessment and accreditation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field of study
  • Minimum of two years dietetic practice experience in a clinical setting
  • Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

In addition, the successful candidate will maintain all professional credentials and have a valid driver’s license, as local travel and site visits will be required. Experience with online learning platforms, excellent written and verbal communication skills, technologically proficient Excel, Word, Power Point and should be comfortable with using internet based social media and communication platform are required. Full-time Campus Police Officer: Prior Campus Police or law enforcement (Act 120) experience preferred. Act 235 certification required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a degree in criminal justice or equivalent experience. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. Must be available to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays. Hourly rate is $15.00.

Part-time Campus Police Officer: Must be available for any shift. Prior Campus Police or law enforcement (Act 120) experience preferred. Act 235 certification required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a degree in criminal justice or equivalent experience. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. The regular schedule will typically be an 8 hour shift and a minimum of 2 days per week. The individual may be required to work days, middles, nights, weekends and holidays, based upon staffing needs. Flexibility of work schedule mandatory. Hourly rate is $15.00.
