Spanish
Half Time Faculty Position

Applications are invited for a half time faculty position in Spanish; the position will begin in January 2015. Responsibilities will include teaching a 2-2 course load, advising students in the program, and assisting the department chair with program oversight. Courses will include introductory and advanced Spanish language and composition courses, as well as topics courses in Spanish and/or Hispanic literature, and applied language courses for a variety of workplace settings; the range of topical and applied courses will depend upon the qualifications and interests of the instructor.

Creative Writing
Half Time Faculty Position

Applications are invited for a half time faculty position in Creative Writing with the ability to teach in at least two genres. The position will begin in January 2015. Responsibilities will include teaching a 2-2 course load with introductory and advanced courses and advising a lively community of undergraduate creative writers. Occasional teaching of composition is also required.

MATHEMATICS
Adjunct Faculty

Cedar Crest College offers a B.S. degree in mathematics and Pennsylvania teaching certification in secondary mathematics. Political Science
Half Time Faculty

Applications are invited for a half time Assistant Professor in Political Science beginning in January 2015. This faculty member will teach two courses per semester in American politics, law and politics, and international affairs; an interest in teaching women’s legal issues or public policy is also desirable. Additionally, the faculty member will be expected to advise students and participate in the process of program-building. The position may eventually expand, as the political science program will become part of a reconstituted History, Law, and Politics department in the near future.

Assistant/Associate Professor
Department of Health Sciences
Tenure-track, Department Chair

Cedar Crest College is excited to launch a newly formed Department of Health Sciences comprising four new majors (Health Science, Public Health, Health Promotion and Wellness, and Exercise Science). The College invites applications for the tenure-track position of assistant/associate professor who will also serve as chair of the department, beginning January 2015.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence in the College’s new Public Health major: teaching the core Health Professions courses, as well as courses in Epidemiology, Public Health, and Global Diseases. The selected candidate must possess the administrative, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to develop and grow the new department and the four new majors. Regular duties will include teaching, student advising, committee service, research and scholarly activities. Experience with program and curriculum planning is strongly preferred.

Nursing Faculty

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for a full-time, 9 month faculty position in the Nursing Department to begin in August 2014. This position will focus primarily on classroom and clinical instruction of maternal/child health and includes the supervision of undergraduate students. Master’s degree in Nursing is required; a doctorate is preferred. Prior experience in classroom and clinical teaching is also preferred. Nursing Clinical Faculty - Adjunct

Employment Opportunities - Administrative and Support Staff

Disability Services Specialist

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to coordinate the delivery of accommodations and support services to students with a wide range of disabilities, including (but not limited to) ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety/depression, physical and sensory disabilities, chronic illnesses, learning disorders, and medical conditions, in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sections 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, campus policy, and all other federal and state laws pertaining to persons with disabilities. This includes the review of documentation to assess eligibility for accommodations and determining appropriate accommodations. The Disability Support Specialist (DSS) works with students, families, instructors, staff, and off-campus providers to provide both initial assessment and ongoing monitoring of individual students’ support requirements. The DSS collaborates with faculty and staff to facilitate student success, provides training and professional development programs for the campus community, oversees the use and implementation of assistive technologies and other strategies to maintain an accessible learning environment, and assists students in developing self-advocacy skills and adapting to the demands of college life.

A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline is required; Master’s in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Rehabilitation or other related field preferred. Three years’ experience working directly with persons with disabilities in an educational setting, specifically in Higher Education preferred. Candidates must have a clear understanding of relevant legal mandates (ADA, 504, FERPA, etc) and best practices in the field of disability support services, be self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage priorities. Experience with adaptive technologies such as CART, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Zoom Text, and electronic textbooks and providing academic advising or coaching services for students is preferred.

Aquatic Fitness Instructors

The Rodale Aquatic Center for Civic Health at Cedar Crest College seeks highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic individuals to teach aquatic fitness classes to a diverse population of students. Associate Director of Admissions

Cedar Crest College is seeking a dynamic, goal-oriented Associate Director of Admissions who will be responsible for extensive recruiting of students, assisting with managing daily operations of the admissions office, managing the Admissions Ambassador/Campus Delegate Programs, and effectively coordinating and managing all admissions events. Administrative Assistant
Nursing Department

Cedar Crest College is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to assist in the daily operations of the Nursing Department. Responsibilities include support the department chair, faculty and staff, serving as liaison between the department and other administrative offices, and providing student services appropriate to the department function. The Assistant works collaboratively to support both graduate and undergraduate student needs. Occasional evening hours are required.

The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, customer relations and communication skills, as well as superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. Proficiency with applicable software and technology is required as is a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast paced, industrious environment with frequent interruptions. Advising and Retention Specialist

Cedar Crest College offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced advisor to provide direct student support to the College’s diverse student population. Graduate Hall Director
Part Time, 10 months

The Department of Residence Life at Cedar Crest College is seeking a Graduate Hall Director to serve as a live-in staff member and supervisor of an all women’s residence hall.

This position is designed for maximum visibility, involvement and accessibility with residents. Responsibilities include supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating resident assistants, coordinating programming, addressing student conduct matters, and providing mediation and conflict resolution for resident students. Collaboration with campus police and health services and being a member of the on-call rotation are also included.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, in addition to experience and/or interest in Residence Life; enrollment in Master’s degree program is preferred. The successful candidate must be a strong and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, and have excellent organizational and collaboration skills. The Graduate Hall Director is contracted from August 1 – May 31 and includes a stipend, furnished apartment with cable and internet access, board plan ($600 flex dollars per semester for meals while classes are in session), access to professional development and two Cedar Crest College graduate level courses per semester (pending admission to program and space availability). Reserved parking, access to pool and fitness center and free, semi-private laundry facilities are also included.

Costume Shop Coordinator
Performing Arts
Part Time – 20 hours/week

Cedar Crest College is seeking a collaborative, creative individual to coordinate the construction of costumes, oversee student work-study staff and ensure that wardrobe is delivered on budget and in a timely manner. The Coordinator serves as the liaison between the costume designer and the shop and is responsible for achieving the designer’s vision and intent. The Coordinator also regularly communicates with the stage manager/director with regard to production deadlines. This is a 20 hours/week, 10 month position.

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline such as theatrical design or costume construction required. Prior experience with working with a fabrication crew strongly preferred. Proficiency in the techniques of garment construction and fabrication is necessary, as is a solid understanding of the uses and limitations of numerous types of fabric. Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills are also required.

Career Planning Center Director
Temporary, Part time (20 hours/week)

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Career Planning Center Director to coordinate, support, and implement programs and services to support students in their career and educational decision making and planning. Responsibilities include conducting career coaching appointments, offering class presentations and workshops, attending Career planning meetings, collaborating with campus faculty and staff to promote services to assist students and supervising student workers. Director of New Student Programs

Secretary to the Board of Trustees/Assistant to the President

Academic Advisor for Online Students

Program Coordinator
Performing Arts

Applications are invited for a 10-month, full time Program Coordinator for the Department of Performing Arts, beginning August 1, 2014. The Program Coordinator is responsible for collaborating in the development and implementation of marketing strategy, maintaining databases/files, coordinating projects, organizing office workload and supervising student workers and front of the house staff. Executive Director of Women’s Leadership

Director of Development for Major Gifts

Cedar Crest College seeks a dynamic Director of Development for Major Gifts who is responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of donors over $25,000. The position incorporates annual and major gifts with an emphasis on individual and capital gifts to the Membership Society. The Director for Major Gifts is required to maintain an active schedule of face-to-face meetings with annual and major gift suspects and prospects, averaging fifteen (15) or more such meetings per month.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience of demonstrated success in fundraising in a higher education development program is required. Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as excellent interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills are required. HVAC/R Mechanic

Cedar Crest College seeks an experienced HVAC/R mechanic for our campus community. This position will conduct corrective and preventative maintenance and operate, program, troubleshoot, repair and modify equipment and associated components of various types of HVAC/R systems including split systems, unit ventilators, window units, compressors, coils and motors. The successful candidate will have HVAC Universal Certification , at least five years experience in the trade including with DDC and pneumatic controls, be able to work independently and collaboratively and have excellent customer service skills with a commitment to assuring the best possible environment for education and student living. Successful completion of an applicable investigative background check is required. This position is considered essential personnel for the campus and will be required to assist during College closures, emergencies and other scheduled and unscheduled events.

Part Time Dispatcher/Switchboard
Campus Police

Do you have prior dispatch/switchboard experience with an interest in law enforcement? If so, consider the opportunity to join our team to answer and redirect calls, monitor radio and surveillance systems, monitor alarm systems, dispatch officers, contact appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintain confidentiality and other duties to keep our campus and students safe. The successful candidate will have prior experience in dispatch/switchboard operations or law enforcement coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and function well in stressful situations. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling and may be required to work various shifts and weekends, based upon staffing needs.
