About the IMCC 2009


The 2nd International Marine Conservation Congress, Making Marine Science Matter, will be held from 14-18 May 2011 at the Victoria Convention Centre, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

The call for proposals for symposia, workshops, and focus groups has been extended to 14 September 2010.

IMCC 2009 is over and it was a huge success. In total the IMCC attracted over 1,200 registrants and participants, from all over the world. The event featured up to 15 simultaneous sessions, a three-day marine protected area management training course, more than 20 side events and meetings, and incorporated the Second International Marine Protected Area Congress. As a result of the attendance and the number of sessions and meetings, the IMCC is believed to be the largest marine conservation conference ever held.
