INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING AND SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS

Before submitting, please review the call for proposals.

All submittals will be via the web. Please follow the instructions carefully, including all requested information and formatting. After you submit your proposal, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to verify and edit your abstract. It is your responsibility to verify that ALL information submitted is complete and correct. If you notice errors or omissions, edit your proposal before the submission deadline. No changes will be made after the submission deadline. Early notification of acceptance will give you ample time to take advantage of the early registration rate.

Information that will be required includes:
  1. Full name and email address of person submitting the abstract
  2. Abstract Title. Titles are limited to 150 characters
  3. Description (maximum 250 words)
  4. Keywords
  5. Justification for proposal, including how their proposal relates to one or more of the major themes and/or cross-cutting issues of the meeting
  6. Expected outcomes and, if appropriate, plans for communication of results
  7. Special instructional of audio-visual equipment
Major themes :
•    Global Climate Change,
•    the Land-Sea Interface,
•    Ecosystem-based Management, and
•    Poverty and Globalization  

Cross-cutting issues include:
•    Marine Protected Areas  
•    Education, Outreach and Capacity Building
•    Governance Arrangements
•    Fisheries and Aquaculture
•    Economics

SPECIAL CHARACTERS AND FORMATTING

Prepare your proposal in a word document (or else) using the text formatting tool of the software like you would normally do for a manuscript.   Cut and paste your description/abstract in the online form provided.  The formatting should remain the same.
