Email Backup/Retention Policy
The following information is provided to help users of the GroupWise Email System understand the nature of the Information Technology backup procedures and the availability of information beyond the date on which it is deleted by the users.
E-mail messages and e-mail services are backed up nightly strictly as a disaster recovery resource, such as loss of hardware and facilities. In the event of a disaster, the backup would be used to restore the e-mail system to its working state just prior to the disaster. Backup tapes are retained for a period of one week and cannot be used as a convenience to retrieve "deleted" messages.
