Virus Information
Virus protection is the sole responsibility of the user. Keeping virus definitions current and keeping computers free of viruses are maintenance procedures that users are responsible for themselves. All College-owned computers on campus are protected by Symantec Anti-Virus. Students, however, are responsible for their own computers.
Information Technology provides FREE Symantec AntiVirus software to all current Cedar Crest students and employees. Both resident and commuter students can come to the IT office in Curtis Hall Room 136 to pick up a cd.
Please Note: This software is offered as a courtesy. Installation and support of the product is not provided by Information Technology. Students are still responsible for updating their own virus definitions.
Virus removal is not covered by any manufacturer's warranties. The Department of Information Technology has no obligation to assist in virus removal, and/or recovery from any damages caused by a virus or other rogue program. Note that rogue programs are not limited to viruses only. Rogue programs include any pirated or illegal software as well as any non-standard software.
