To assure an academic foundation essential to the study of
law, the pre-law program recommends the following
course of study, to include:
PHI 131 Introduction to Logic 3 credits
ENG 235 Non-Fiction Writing 3 credits
In consultation with the director of pre-law,
the student selects three skills courses (one must be a critical
reading
course) from among a number of courses that develop those
skills and values essential for competent lawyering,
such as analytical and problem solving skills, critical reading
abilities, writing skills, oral and written communication
skills and general research skills.
In consultation with the director of pre-law,
the student selects three knowledge courses from a number
of courses
which provide a basic understanding of subjects proving
useful to the study of law, and inform on the value of
serving others and promoting justice.
