Mission

The Computer Information Systems curriculum provides graduates with the technical and business skills to pursue rewarding careers in fields of information systems and information technology. Students develop a practical understanding of computer science, networking, databases, systems analysis and design techniques, and system implementation and deployment; skills that are essential for the information functions that are a part of nearly every industry. Through a mix of theoretical and practical experiences, students are well prepared to take on the global information challenges of the 21st century. The department is strongly committed to increasing the number of women taking leadership roles in careers in the information sciences.
