A. Enrollment Variables
1) Undergraduate full time enrollment (FTE)
Definition: Total fall full-time equivalent (FTE) undergraduate
students
Formula: Fulltime undergraduate headcount + (Number of Parttime
undergraduate
credits/15)
2) Graduate full time enrollment (FTE)
Definition: Total full-time equivalent (FTE) graduate students
Formula: 12-month instructional activity graduate credits / 24
3) Full time undergraduate headcount
Definition:
Total number of students enrolled as full time undergraduates
4) Percent FT enrollment
Definition:
Percent of undergraduates who are enrolled as full-time students
Formula:
Parttime undergraduate headcount / Total undergraduate headcount
5) First-year enrollment
Definition:
Total fall full-time, first-year undergraduate headcount
Formula:
Fulltime traditional undergraduates + Fulltime LLL undergraduates
6) Percent of students who transfer to CCC from 2- or 4-year
schools
Definition:
Percent of undergradutes attending CCC for the first time but known to
have previously attended a postsecondary institution at the
undergraduate level
Formula:
Number of undergraduates who have attended a postsecondary institution
/ Total undergraduate headcount
7) Percent of enrollment age 25
and over
Definition:
Percent of undergraduates age 25 and older
Formula:
Number of undergraduates age 25 and older / Total undergraduate
headcount
Academics / Residence Variables
8) Percent of graduates with Arts/Sciences as first major
Definition: Percent of stduents receiving bachelor degrees in
disciplines other than accounting, business, education, management,
nuclear medicine, nursing, nutrition and social work during the most
recently reported academic year.
Formula: Number of bachelor degrees awarded in disciplines other
than those defined / Total bachelor degrees awarded
9) Student-faculty ratio
Definition: Total student FTE divided by instructional faculty FTE
Formula: Total student FTE / (FT instructional faculty + PT
instructional faculty / 3)
10) Percent of faculty who are full-time
Definition: FTE of full-time instructional faculty as a
percentage of total instructional faculty FTE
Formula: FT instructional faculty / (FT instructional faculty +
PT instructional faculty / 3)
11) Percent of students residing on campus
Definition: Students residing on campus as a percentage of
traditional undergraduates
Formula: Dormitory capacity / Total number of students under age
25
Freshmen Variables
12) SAT 25th percentile
Definition: The score at which 25 percent o freshmen submitting
test scores to an institution scored at or below
13) SAT 75th percentile
Definition: The score at which 75 percent of freshment submitting
test scores to an institution scored at or below
14) Percent with Pell grants
Definition: Percent of students receiving Pell grants
Formula: Number of students receiving Pell grants / FT
undergraduates
Financial Variables
15) Full-time tuition and fees
Definition: The published price of tuition and fees for
full-time, first-time,
first-year students
16) Educational and general
expenditures per FTE
Definition:
Total educational and general expenditures divided by total student FTE
Formula: Total
educational and general expenditures / Total student FTE
17) Endowment per FTE
Definition:
Value of the endowment at the end of the fiscal year divided by total
student FTE
Formula:
Total endowment / Total student FTE
18) Tuition dependency
Definition:
The percentage of educational and general expenditures covered by total
net tuition revenue
Formula:
[(Total tution and fees + Total allowance applied to tuition and fees)
- (Total funded institutional grants + Total unfunded institutional
grants) ] / Total expenses
