Dr. André P. Walther's BIO
Born
and bred in Iowa, I attended the University of Northern Iowa. I
graduated Magna Cum Laude with B.A.'s in Chemistry and Biology, and
minors in Anthropology and French. I did my Ph.D. thesis work in the
Department of Biochemistry at the University of Iowa College of
Medicine with Dr. Marc Wold.
I
completed
a
my Ph.D. thesis on the "ssDNA binding
properties of human Replication Protein A and role in the elongation
phase of DNA replication." I then went on become an
NIH NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow
in the lab of Dr.
James
Haber at Brandeis University. My research in
his lab focused on understanding cellular responses to DNA damage in
the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. I joined the
Department of Biological Sciences at Cedar Crest College in the Fall of
2006.
